motorcycle accident on the city street

A woman in Valdosta has been charged as the result of an early-August motorcycle accident that sent two people to local hospitals with injuries. The Georgia State Patrol announced the charges following the woman’s arrest.

According to reports, a female driver was making a right turn, attempting to exit the parking lot of a convenience store on Bemiss Road. The woman was entering southbound traffic as she was making the turn. As the woman was entering traffic, she did so directly in the path of an oncoming motorcycle. The driver of the motorcycle was forced to take what authorities called evasive action in order to avoid the vehicle.

As a result of the action, the motorcycle driver lost control, overturning in the southbound lanes. The driver of the motorcycle was lifeflighted to Tallahassee Memorial Healthcare because of a head injury. The female passenger on the motorcycle was transported to a local hospital with injuries. She was treated for those injuries and released.

The driver of the car was charged with failure to yield while entering or crossing the roadway.
